Critically Acclaimed Horror Series AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE #1 Now FREE!

Trade paperback Collection in Stores February 11, 2015

December 16, 2014 Newburyport, MA -- In anticipation of the direct market release of AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE Volume 1, the most critically-acclaimed small-press horror mini-series of 2014, ComixTribe has made the first issue of the series available for FREE to the public for a limited time.

"AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE is ComixTribe's most successful series to date, and our best reviewed. John Lees, Iain Laurie, Colin Bell, and Megan Wilson have produced a true horror classic," said publisher Tyler James. "That said, we know there are a lot of readers out there who have yet to discover EMILY. With the trade now available digitally on Comixology, and in stores next week, it's a good time to give a wider audience a free taste of the series."

The AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE series was originally published between July and November 2014, and the trade hits shelves February 11. The new collection features:
  • The complete EMILY mini-series, collecting #1-5.
  • A new foreword by Joshua Hale Fialkov (The Bunker, The Life After)
  • A series cover gallery, including work by Riley Rossmo (Bedlam, Rasputin), Nick Pitarra (Manhattan Projects) and Garry Brown (The Massive)
  • An afterword by John Lees
  • A "How the Sausage is Made" feature showing the script to page process.
And while the series is complete, ComixTribe, a Silver sponsor for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2015, will be offering readers a prequel story in AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE #0, featuring a cover by Marvel Comics superstar RYAN STEGMAN

And Then Emily Was Gone is a dark horror-mystery mini-series written by John Lees and drawn by Iain Laurie, with colors by Megan Wilson, and letters by Colin Bell. The FREE first issue is being powered by NoiseTrade. EMILY #1 will be available for free until February 17.

"We prematurely announced that the trade collection for EMILY would be out this week instead of next. I felt so bad about that, I decided we should give everyone who wants one a copy of the first issue!" said award-winning series writer John Lees.

ComixTribe also announced that AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE has been formally submitted for Eisner Award consideration in the category of Best Limited Series. Fingers crossed!
