Notes from Our Director:
Summer is just around the corner, and we're gearing up for our Summer Reading Program! This year's theme is health and fitness. We have many exciting programs to attend and activities to complete, keeping kids and teens engaged and active all summer long. Click here to see a full list of all of our summer programs.
Over the summer, students risk losing some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year. Participating in Summer Reading helps maintain reading skills and helps kids and teens stay motivated to learn. We also have an early literacy component of our program to engage babies, toddlers, and preschoolers and help get them ready to read.
And Summer Reading isn't just for kids. We're offering programs that are fun for the whole family, as well as programs for adults. By participating in the Summer Reading Program, children, teens, and adults can also enter to win a number of great prizes!
Summer fun at the library begins on Thursday, June 23 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. when the library hosts our Summer Reading Kickoff Party. Come sign up for our Summer Reading Program and enjoy some free ice cream. Can't make it to the party? Registration is open all summer.
We hope you will join us for a summer full of fun and learning!
Best,
Melissa Tacke, Library Director
