Notes from Our Director:
Spring brings a few changes to Castleton Public Library! We are delighted to share some of the ways we're improving our service to you:
- Lower fines for DVDs: Starting April 1, when you borrow DVDs from CPL, overdue fines for late DVDs are 25 cents per day, down from $1.00 per day. Overdue fines for books remain at 10 cents per day. Have an issue with a past fine on your library card? Talk to one of our librarians.
- More fun for kids and kids-at-heart: If you've visited the library lately, you may have noticed our new shelf full of games, LEGOs, and wooden blocks in the children's section. If you haven't seen it yet, come check it out! You're welcome to play any time that we're open.
- More school break week programs: We're increasing the number of programs we offer during school breaks for children and teens. See our events calendar, below, for a listing of our programs during Spring Break (April 25-29). Stop in and see us!
Want to help support the library while enjoying a great breakfast? Don't miss the Friends of CPL's annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, April 9! Enjoy a breakfast of 3 pancakes, 2 slices of bacon, and unlimited beverages for only $6.00 per person. Join us from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at Applebee's Restaurant, 594 N. Troy Road, Rensselaer, NY 12144. You can buy tickets at the library through April 8; walk-ins are also welcome.
Do you have any suggestions or comments about the library? We'd love to hear from you. Stop by, give us a call at 518-732-0879, or send an email to director@castletonpubliclibrary.org.
Best,
Melissa Tacke, Library Director
