Dear Supporter
A big thank you for supporting the Bluecoat Display Centre during 2016. It’s been a superb year in which we have welcomed many new talented artists to the gallery, and hosted new events, exhibitions and initiatives including this year’s raffle, the Carter Preston Lecture and Emma Rodgers demonstration which supported our artist residencies in local hospitals.
Our creative programme continues to inspire and delight, we have enclosed a view card for our Christmas jewellery show which includes flora & fauna inspired prints by Angie Lewin, and will also have a special Christmas shopping evening event on the 8th December 5.30-7.30pm offering Friend’s discounts.
This year we continued our ‘Making a Difference’ outreach project in partnership with Liverpool Hospital Trusts and Social Care Charity PSS (Person Shaped Support), to demonstrate the benefits that craft can have on a person’s overall health and wellbeing. We have been working with groups with mental health issues, adults with dementia, and women at risk of reoffending. The Walton Centre, The Royal University and Broadgreen hospitals have received site specific permanent commissions by Rachael Howard, Mari-Ruth Oda and John Ayling. The financial support of our regular members helped us to be able to run this programme and other educational projects throughout the year.
MEMBERSHIP UPDATE: We hope that you will take this opportunity to renew your subscription, which runs from 1st December, to help us to achieve our charitable and artistic goals.
Times are still difficult with the arts funding cut-backs, and we would not be able to maintain the high standard of our programme of exhibitions, workshops and education work without the generous support of our members. We hope you will take this opportunity to re-join as a member and to commit to a regular payment through standing order, which can be set up on line by yourself if you have internet banking, or else send this form in good time to your bank or send us a cheque with a completed form below.
All the staff team and board of trustees once again thank you for your on-going support, and hope you will continue to help our artists and Bluecoat Display Centre with your contributions.
