Special Programs

Autism Program Launched

Our groundbreaking drama program for children on the autism spectrum is starting its school year curriculum in October.  Julie Schroeder, who is certified to teach Drama for Autism, founded and conducts this wonderful program that fulfills a gap in services in our community.  The school year program is funded through a generous grant from the Charlotte Martin Foundation.  This is the first year we have been able to extend our summer program to the school year, and the response has been fantastic!  We are extremely proud of our community outreach program for students on the autism spectrum. To register a child, contact Julie Schoeder at or call 509-943-6027.

ACT is launching a new acting performance group, Ensemble, for kids in grades 3-5.  Under the direction of Josh Darby, this is an after school drama club.  We will meet twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays for three weeks every month starting in October. Each month will feature a special theatrically-themed focus and conclude in a sharing performance. This special new program has a rolling enrollment, where each month the fee is $80, or you can purchase a school year registration for a 50% reduced price of $40 per month.  For more information and to register, go to
ACT is honored to announce an extremely generous $20,000 gift from the Ohl Family Giving Fund in support of our efforts.  If you know the Ohl Family, please join us in thanking them for supporting our organization!  We are so grateful for their philanthropic emphasis on supporting local arts programs for children and families.  We appreciate the trust they place in our organization for the stewardship of their transformative gift.  As a non-profit business, ACT is reliant on gifts such as this to keep operating!  Thank you again to the wonderful Ohl Family.
