Congratulations to Laura Dowie who has just been awarded Chartered Manager status by the Chartered Management Institute.

She now joins a growing group of Chartered hashtag#Managers driving better productivity & performance in Northern Ireland. Laura is founder and director of Little Women NI, an initiative set up to improve a range of life assuring skills in young girls.

Laura has collaborated with a range of organisations to deliver bespoke events for Little Women including Belfast Fashion Week, Belfast 89fm, Bright Young Things, Fratellis, Flow Yoga, Irish Football Association, June Burgess Horse Inspired Leadership, Offload Rugby, We Love Languages and W5.

She is a member of the board of directors for Chartered Management Institute, Hope4Life, and Kabosh.

She is a language graduate with postgraduate awards in marketing, digital marketing and communication.

The Nerve Centre now offers a course that will train and allow businesses to use their 3D printer and digital fabrication resources.
The Nerve Centre has been having some recent success with local businesses in designing unique packaging and also in developing prototypes and bespoke marketing materials for their business.
This is a free course and will involve the business to spend a duration of 14 hours in the lab and we will be flexible in terms of how the time is used in order to suit business needs and availability.
We will need a cohort of around 10-12 businesses to proceed with this.

These systems, once fitted will interface the ships’ existing alarm and notification systems such as (amongst others) the fire alarm system, DMR system, engine management system, ‘man-down’ and security distress systems. On receiving alarms or events from the above systems the monitoring system will format and present this information to a wide variety of carriers, a full list is given in detail with regards to the format and nature of these notifications. The monitoring system must operate in a variety of modes depending on the ships operational status, each mode will result in a different set of profiles, and these will dictate how the system will react. A concise description of the operational requirement is dealt with later in this document. Any proposed system must be compatible with the ships existing systems, there will be no scope to change existing fire panels or engine management systems.
