February already –
how is that possible?

How is it possible that we are already one month into 2018? Time just “goes”! Hence my motivational mantra: “Long days, short weeks, months, and years.” Basically, “Kathleen wake up and kill this day! Be present — the week, month, year will be over in no time.”

Speaking of time flying, my new website launched January 2nd — a day I thought would never come! I am really proud of the new site, specifically the “Choose Happy” section where you can learn what I am reading now, peruse my latest newsletter, see my recent “pockets of joy,” AND read Kathleenisms. Here is the first Kathleenism. (If you have not peaked at the new site, now is the time ... click the image below.)

The Other F Word+

As for media, I want to highlight my episode of The Other F Word podcast. I personally love The Other F Word — I respect the hosts and the message — so it was a pleasure and an honour to get to record. Listen here!

As for TV slots, if you’re looking for ways to beat the winter blues, check out my segment on Rogers Ottawa. My Ottawa segments are always goofy, but this one takes the cake. I actually kicked something. It was an accident I PROMISE. I am a dork in Christmas socks ... but I own it :-) Looking for ways to maintain your New Year’s resolutions? Check out my BT and Rogers Ottawa segments on the N.O.T. principle.

With a new website comes ... a new newsletter contributor! I am excited to welcome Jessica Vunk. Why did I ask her to join my little merry tribe? I follow Jessica on Instagram and after reading her post “2017 Book Scoop” (a list of her favourite self-help books), I knew we were kindred book spirits and I had to collaborate with her. (We all know how much I love my audio self-help books — hence why my new site has a “What I’m Reading Now” section.) I was impressed by Jessica’s list. Some of the titles were familiar, but not all were. I immediately added a bunch to my reading “wish list” and messaged Jessica.

Final Thought

We never know what the future holds, but we know one thing for sure: The same thoughts and decisions lead to the same actions and results. If you were not happy with your choices in 2017, or you have a goal for 2018, you have to actively change your thoughts and your decisions. Change is an active process. For different results, you need to make different choices. Change your thoughts. Learn tools and strategies for action. Self-reflect. Analyze what you have done well in the past and areas for improvement. Learn. Evolve. Grow.
