Helping Make Hunger Disappear

This Thanksgiving we are giving you the opportunity to help buy dinner for a family in need. Please place the following items in this box and return it to the foyer by Wednesday, November 14: frozen turkey 20lbs or more, boxed stuffing 12 0Z, instant mashed potatoes 12 0Z, canned yams 16 0Z, canned corn 14.5 0Z, canned green beans 14.5 0Z, cranberry sauce 16 0z and gravy 12 0Z.
 
Man Cave

Men, come join us on Saturday, November 3, at 9:00 am, in Station 3:16, for a hearty breakfast, empowering message, and a great time of fellowship! CSUB Man Cave will meet at 9:00 am in the CSUB Student Union Building. Northwest Man Cave will meet at 9:00 am at the Northwest campus. Tehachapi Man Cave will meet at 9:00 am, at the Village Grill restaurant (410 E. Tehachapi Blvd.). VBF recommends attendees be age 14 and older for this ministry. For more information, please call the church office at (661) 325-2251.

 
2018 VBF Women's Retreat
Our amazing VBF Women's Retreat at Sugar Pines Christian Camp is coming up Friday, November 2, through Sunday, November 4! Please pray for them as they head up to the mountains.
Valley Schools Santa Run
Ronald McDonald Charities and Valley Schools present Bakersfield’s 4th annual Santa 5/10k Run on Saturday, December 1, at Riverwalk Park. Registration opens at 7:30 am, and the first race starts at 9:00 am. Registration fee is $35 for 10k, $30 for 5k, and $20 for 1k Elf Run (kids 10 and under). All proceeds from the run go to support Ronald McDonald House and Valley Schools. To register go online to bakersfield5k.com or call the Valley Schools office at (661) 325-5084.
 
 
Adventures of the
Simple Life Ranch
This holiday season we will have all three of Pastor Ron's children's books sold as a series with TONS of additional children's activities included. It will make a great teacher's gift AND will be sold at a discounted price the whole month of November. The packaged series will be available starting Sunday, November 11, for $25. Series includes Oreo Finds a Friend, Bella Goes to School, Charlie Finds a Home, and a USB flash drive full of activities.

Family Movie Night:
The Northwest campus will be having a Family Movie Night on Friday, November 9, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, in the sanctuary. This is a free event and popcorn will be provided. For more information, please call the church office at (661) 325-2251.

Valley Schools Opportunity Basket Fundraiser
Valley Schools is having our annual Opportunity Basket Fundraiser. Stop by our booth under the patio at the main campus to see all the baskets and purchase your ticket on Sunday, November 18, before and after service times.

MOPS:
MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, are having sign ups on the patio after service! We will meet the second Tuesday of each month in the Xtreme building, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. November's meeting date is Tuesday, November 13. For more details, email MOPS@vbf.org.

MomsNext:
MomsNext will meet on Tuesday, November 6, at the Northwest campus, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This is a ministry for moms of school aged children. For registration or more information, please contact Cassandra at (661) 747-4567.

Westside Women’s Bible Study
VBF ladies, join us for this monthly Bible study that meets on the second Tuesday of every month at our Northwest campus (6228 Coffee Road), from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. We will be going through Priscilla Shirer’s study, Discerning the Voice of God. November's meeting date is Tuesday, November 13. Books are available at the study for $15.

Women’s Divorce Care Group
We are starting a Women’s Divorce Care group! This group is for women who have gone through a divorce and are seeking community and Godly support with other women, while going through a curriculum to provide progress towards healing. The group will meet every Tuesday evening, at 7:00 pm, at our Northwest campus, starting November 6. Please visit VBFwomen.com for further information. 

High School Thanksgiving Feast
The high school ministry will be having our 5th annual Thanksgiving feast on Friday, November 16in Station 3:16, at VBF’s main campus. The feast will be from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  We will have everything you want for the perfect feast! You won’t want to miss this event! CSUB High School Bowling Night
The CSUB high school ministry will be going bowling at the BLVD (15419 Joseph Phelps Ave), on Saturday, November 10, at 1:00 pm, and ending the night with a movie and fellowship. Please call Genaro at the church office for more information (661) 325-2251 ext 777.

CSUB SLM Prayer Night:
The CSUB high school ministry has prayer night every first Friday of the month. Please join us on Friday, November 2, at 6:00 pm. The purpose is to learn about the power of prayer. For more information, please contact Genaro at the church office at (661) 325-2251 ext 777.

CSUB SLM Life Group:
The CSUB high school ministry will be having a Bible study Monday, November 26, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, to build fellowship and learn how to become a servant of God. For more information, please contact Genaro at the church office at (661) 325-2251 ext 777.

Middle School Six Flags Magic Mountain
The middle school ministry will be going to Six Flags Magic Mountain on Tuesday, November 20. The cost is $50 per student plus additional money for food.  We will be meeting at VBF, at 9:00 am, then carpooling to Six Flags. To secure a spot, please turn in a signed permission slip and $50. Xtreme Girls' Bible Study:
Our Xtreme girls (ages 2nd grade-5th grade) will be gathering for fun, worship, and the Word on Saturday, November 3, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, in the Jungle (building D). We can't wait for our girls to get creative with their Xtreme female leaders for a day of arts and crafts! Home Church (Young Adults):

Adopt-A-Block:
The goal of Adopt-A-Block is to build relationships with the people of Bakersfield, and the key to success is consistency. No gimmicks; just genuine relationships. We want to make a difference in the lives of people living in our city. We want to show them the love of Christ. We do this by visiting door-to-door and spending time with the families, playing games with the kids, handing out clothes, picking up trash, praying for families, and inviting families to church. Join us in the Xtreme on Saturday, November 10, and Saturday, November 24, at 9:45 am.

                                              Sunday Night Services:
Come join us on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm, in the sanctuary at our East Brundage location, for our LIVE sermon from Sunday morning, including live worship, and children’s services, nursery through 5th grade.                                            

                                                  VBF Squad Runners:
Squad Runners meet every Monday evening, in Station 3:16, at 6:00 pm, for a life group Bible study, followed by a quick run or walk. We also meet at Starbucks on Stockdale Hwy and Gosford Rd. every Saturday morning at 7:00 am. For more information, please contact Pastor Al Martinez at (661) 325-2251 ext 115.

50 Plus Ministry:
If you are 50 years or older and want to join a community that provides fun and encouragement, join us every second Monday, November 12, at VBF’s Northwest campus (6228 Coffee Road), at 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  
 
Financial Peace Class:
Financial Peace Class will give you hope for freedom from debt,
stress, and worry. Build a legacy, and plan for your future. Classes are Thursdays, at 6:00 pm, and meet in room 36. Please call the church office for more details at (661) 325-2251.

Grief Share:
Grief Share is a grief support group where you can find help and healing after the loss of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. The group meets on Sundays, at 6:00 pm, in room 37. Please call Brenda Ratliff for more information at (661) 330-3693.

Hospital Ministry:
If you know of someone who is hospitalized and would appreciate prayer and a visit by the VBF Hospital Ministry Team, please call the church office at (661) 325-2251. The teams visit on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
