The June Smart Talk meeting will feature an Inspector Panel. This is shaping up to be another informative session. CPBR Scholarship Recipients Selected

There was a small, but very well qualified group of applicants for the 2017 Sammy Pierce Scholarship. The recipients have been selected and will be announced at their respective graduations. We look forward to having them visit us at a future Board meeting.

CPBR Seeking Volunteers

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” — Winston Churchill

The Crown Point Board of Realtors® needs volunteers. Did you know that the National Association of Realtors® is America’s largest trade association, representing over 1.2 million members? You are a part of something big!

The CPBR has been a successful association for over 25 years due to the generosity of the volunteers who have served. These Realtors® have given back to their colleagues and community while maintaining their business and family lives. Opportunities to serve include:

  • Government Affairs Committee
  • RPAC Committee
  • Public Relations
  • Core Standards Committee
  • And other opportunities . . .

Call Susan LeCours at (802) 843-2390 with your interest. Mentors are available to assist you.
Many hands make for light work! We need your hands.

CPBR Good Neighbor Nominations

CPBR is also seeking nominations for its 2017 Good Neighbor! This award recognizes a Realtor® for their community involvement. If you know a Realtor® who has worked to improve their community, we hope you will consider nominating them for the CPBR Good Neighbor!  NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY JUNE 30.

New Heating Tank Rule Takes Effect July 1

Vermont’s Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) rules regulate the design and installation of heating oil tanks. They also provide spill prevention and inspection requirements for both tank owners and fuel suppliers. A Vermont law passed in 2016 requires tanks to be removed during natural gas conversions. The Department of Environmental Conservation is also required to develop training and certification standards for oil heat tank inspections.

The new certification standards and procedures must be in place by July 1, 2017. By law, fuel tanks must be inspected every three years.

Financial assistance is available to assist low-income residents who may not have the financial resources to replace or upgrade tanks to meet the new requirements (see below).
