Bisphenol A-free formulation
If you are looking to remove epoxy acrylates (EA) to achieve a Bisphenol A-free formulation, there is a wide range of options depending on the final properties that are most important to you. For an inexpensive, high gloss formulation, you can replace the EA with GENOMER* 2312, an epoxidized soy oil acrylate.
For higher performance, you can choose among aliphatic epoxy acrylates (e.g. GENOMER* 2235), Polyether Acrylates (e.g. GENOMER* 3497) or Polyester Acrylates (e.g. POLYESTER ACRYLATE 03-849). In many cases, these substitutions can deliver added benefits such as lower viscosity or faster cure speed. The data in the following table show how these different products perform in a simple overprint varnish formulation.
