PeakCare's is pleased to announce
our inaugural PeakCare Awards
With award categories like no other, the awards ceremony will take place at an event like no other – PeakCare’s 2019 Annual General Meeting and end-of-year celebrations. This will be a night that will drip with decorum and ooze with elegance as is befitting of the highly prestigious PeakCare Awards.
All PeakCare Members, Supporters and Friends are invited to nominate candidates for one or more of the Awards. The Award categories include:
The SIC (Translation: good; awesome)
To be awarded to an individual, workgroup, organisation, alliance or collective for innovative or exemplary design or delivery of services to Queensland children, young people, parents and/or families.
The DEADLY (No translation needed)
To be awarded to an individual, workgroup, organisation, alliance or collective for their recognition and promotion of self-determination by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in relation to the safety and wellbeing of their children, young people and families.
NB: Nominations of candidates in this category will only be received from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons or must be endorsed by an Elder, respected Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander leader or senior representative of a community-controlled organisation.
The WOKE (Translation: Highly aware of social issues)
To be awarded to an individual, organisation, alliance or collective for their advocacy and influence in achieving improved outcomes for Queensland children, young people, parents and families.
The LEGEND (Translation: Fabulous; famous for their unique qualities and impact over many years)
To be awarded to an individual for their lifetime contribution to the wellbeing of Queensland children, young people, parents and families.
All nominations must be received by no later than C.O.B Friday, 1st of November 2019.
All persons submitting nominations must confirm that they have received permission from the candidates before submitting their nominations. All nominations will be published on PeakCare’s website. The award recipient in each category will be selected by an esteemed judging panel and will be announced during PeakCare’s AGM and end-of-year celebrations.
Other highlights of PeakCare’s 2019 AGM and end-of-year celebrations will include:
- A very special Welcome to Country
- The dulcet tones of the Brisbane Pride Choir
- Entertainment by a surprise guest celebrity
- Election of new PeakCare Board Members for 2020
- Three-course dining
Profit generated from this year’s event will be donated to the Family Inclusion Networks to establish a fund to assist parents with a lived experience of the child protection system to attend conferences, workshops and similar events.
