Many of our members have been feverishly working behind the scenes to plan and prepare for our most ambitious outreach, Camp Athens, a one-week day camp we'll be hosting at ADHS this summer. One of the primary goals for this camp is to build deeper relationships with our community.
Camp is for children 8-13 (as well as a mini-camp program for younger children of volunteers), and our hope is for it to be around half ekklesia kids and half kids from the surrounding community (most of which will be atending on scholarship).
Learn more at our camp website, www.CampAthens.org and register online as a camper or volunteer.
Last Sunday we began a new sermon series in Paul's letter to the Colossians. If you missed and want to catch up, you can do so here.
New Durham Small Group - Sun. 2/23
We're excited to announce a new small group will be starting for our Durham folks later this month. On Sunday, February 23rd at 5:00 pm, Mark and Mick Schulte will be hosting an initial gathering at their home for everyone to hangout, eat, and discuss format, meeting times, etc. If you live in the Durham area, be sure to join in!
We've had a couple people step up and volunteer for our kids ministry, but we've still got a couple spots to fill! If you're interested in serving our kids, email Lindsay Stevenson.
Also, be sure to download this month's Family Connection to see what our kids are learning!
Exciting Opportunity #1 - Summer Food Program
During the summer, thousands of kids who qualify for free and reduced lunch at Wake County Schools find themselves missing meals. This summer, we have an opportunity to be a host site for the Wake County Summer Food Program. Email us HERE if you're interested in joining a Food Ministry Team to help out!
Exciting Opportunity #2 - 5th Sunday Team
On March 29th, we will be having another 5th Sunday worship service focused on racial healing and justice. We would like to form a team to help us brainstorm about and plan those services. If you would like to join that team, email us HERE!
