|Christian Medical & Dental Association
We told you last winter about a new ministry opportunity we've had this past school year with the Christian Medical and Dental Association. They are a like-minded ministry whose vision is to raise up "transformed doctors, transforming the world."
Since last fall, a number of staff members on our team have been getting to know this ministry first hand as we've coached their campus movements at medical schools across Chicago-land. Amy has been working with a group of students at Loyola's Stritch Medical School and Andy has been working with students at the University of Chicago's medical campus. We feel like we've learned a lot this first year and are eager to continue moving forward with these students.
In late May we were blessed to travel to a conference at the CMDA Headquarters in Bristol, TN/VA. It was great time of equipping and connecting with this sister ministry. And Avery was a trooper on the 11 hour car ride! You can find out more about this ministry here.
What We're Doing This Summer
Typically in the summer time you hear about our travel plans to be engaged with students on a summer mission trip... last year here in Chicago, a few years ago in Rome. This year is a little bit different.
Andy is actually serving in a role that will help facilitate our Summer Projects all over the world! He's coaching the operations directors for all of the Summer Projects from our four state area. He's overseeing the logistical side of these mission trips from Rome, Italy and Lusaka, Zambia to Guayaquil, Ecuador to three undisclosed locations in Asia... and also stateside projects in Chicago, Traverse City, Virginia Beach, and other tourist-attracting spots in the US. We're excited that he can use his gifts in this way and that we don't need to travel much this summer given that Amy's just entered the third trimester of pregnancy.
In late July, Andy will, however, travel to the Campus Crusade National Staff Conference for 8 days in Fort Collins, Colorado. This summer will mark the 60th anniversary of Campus Crusade!
