Hopefully you already have our fundraising fun-day in your diary and plan on coming along. It runs from 2-5pm this Saturday 6 September in Abney Park. Guided walks start at 2pm and 4pm and the entertainment stage kicks off at 3pm. Most of the activities and information will be by the main entrance on the High Street.

But we URGENTLY need some volunteers to help the day run smoothly. Could you spare an hour or two in the morning, before the event, or in the afternoon between 1.30pm - 5pm? There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved with the activities going on during the event too.

If you can help on the day or before, drop us an e-mail with your name and contact number to

We sort of help we need includes:
  • Help with arrangements on the day - setting up (late morning) and/or marshalling.
  • Help distribute flyers on the day at Stoke Newington Farmers' Market at St Paul's West Hackney, and along the High Street and Church Street.
  • Distribute the latest Campaign leaflet and flyers in your area. With a lot of people away on holiday at the moment, it would be a great help if you could spare an hour or two.
And of course, don't forget to tell your friends, neighbours and social networks about the event, It will also be a chance to find out about the work that the Abney Park Trust and User Group does, and meet the people involved.

Legal Update

We'll update you on the latest legal position more fully after Saturday's event. Our lawyers will be in court this week on a procedural matter ahead of the main Judicial Review hearing listed for 14-16 October. We've also asked the Information Commissioner's Office to investigate the secrecy surrounding the documents the developer submitted that claims they could only build 17% affordable homes.

Although our barristers are working at no cost to us, mounting a complex case like this is still expensive. It's why this fundraising is essential. We've raised over £16,000 so far but need more in order to cover a proportion of the other side's costs, if we lose.
