FRQSC Grant,
Concerted Actions program

Congratulations to the CREGÉS members:
- Sophie Éthier (principal investigator);
- Mélanie Couture (co-investigator);
- Sarita Israel (collaborator);
and to Éric Gagnon and François Aubry (co-investigator) for obtaining a FRQSC grant of nearly $ 190,000 for a research project on well-treatment of older adults.

National Policy for Caregivers

On October 1st, the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) seize power after having promised a series of measures for caregivers. Since then, an interdepartmental committee has been in action. On December 11th, a consultation for a National Policy for Caregivers was organized by the Minister responsible for Seniors and Caregivers, Marguerite Blais. Several CREGÉS members were invited as expert. Sophie Éthier, professor at Université Laval and researcher at CREGÉS, gave a presentation as a guest speaker.

MSSS Mandate:
Overview of services and support measures for caregivers

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) recently confirmed the granting of a mandate to the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal to produce a Portrait of Services and Support Measures for Caregivers. This mandate is under the responsibility of the CREGÉS because of its expertise in this specific area.

Call for Projects
« Soutien aux action favorisant les saines habitudes de vie chez les aînés »
A new financial support program, led by the Secrétariat aux aînés (MSSS), is aimed at non-profit organizations in recognized age-friendly municipalities (MADA). The program aims to support activities that promote the acquisition and maintenance of a healthy diet or a physically active lifestyle.

Deadline: February 11th, 2019

Annual Report

The Québec Ombudsperson, Marie Rinfret just presented her 2017-2018 Annual Report. She stated her findings regarding the quality of Québec's public services.

"Despite their efforts, government departments and agencies, detention facilities and entities in the health and social services network are struggling to fulfill their commitments.[our translation]" said Marie Rinfret.
