North Main Street Bridge Removal in Houston
An expansion of the Houston Metro Rail network is currently underway. As part of the project, ATI was contracted to demolish and remove a partial section of the North Main Street bridge. Protecting the environmentally sensitive White Oak Bayou below, while simultaneously ensuring safe pedestrian access for University of Houston students above presented a unique logistical challenge. Read more and about ATI’s role in this exciting infrastructure development project.

Expansive Concrete Demolition
Concrete demolition and removal is not always about saws, hammers, and explosives. In certain structural situations, non-explosive chemicals represent a more effective solution.  Expansive concrete demolition achieves fracturing by physically expanding concrete from the inside out. Applications include job sites inaccessible to large equipment, noise considerations, or concerns about excessive vibration. Read more about this technology.

ABC Houston 2011 ICE Award
ATI was awarded the 2011 Excellence in Construction, Specialty Construction, for the MD Anderson Alkek Expansion Project. Nabil Mimouni, Ph.D., P.E., of 3D Design and Engineering was the project engineer and whose expertise was instrumental in the success of this project.
From the customer:
"Due to a congested site and desire to not interrupt ongoing hospital operations, all of this work was performed at night. Numerous safety hazards existed, incluiding working off of swing stages while core drilling, cutting, and rigging as well as fire hazards. ATI completed this high-risk scope of work for a high-profile client with no safety incidents, no interruption of existing operations, and per the project schedule."
