Wind Turbine Safety Notice

As with any tall structure, wind turbines can accumulate ice and snow under certain weather conditions.  During the cold weather months, ice and snow can build up on the wind turbine structures and wind turbine blades and may fall to the ground. This falling ice and snow could create a hazard to people and or equipment. It is often difficult to see the ice and snow that may have formed on the turbine structure and blades and may not have any warning of when it could fall. We ask landowners and members of the public to exercise increased awareness and caution when in the vicinity of wind turbines during icing conditions.
