Welcome in this new edition, the first of the year 2021 and the first gathering the two merged entities: France-IX and Rezopole. Happy reading!
France-IX and Rezopole become one
As you may already know, the merger between France-IX and Rezopole took effect on December, 15th 2020. Approved by a large majority of our members, the merger opens up huge growth opportunities for both structures.
Many of you cast their votes for this second round of the elections held on January, 29th and intended to renew our Board Committee. Congratulations to Philippe Duby and Grégoire Villain who received the highest number of votes, reaching respectively 27.5 % and 18.3 % of the votes.
France-IX has joined for the 3rd year in a row the annual ranking of the 500 Growth Champions in France, published by the French business daily Les Echos and the Statista institute, with a growth rate reaching almost 65% over the 2016-2019 period. It is another great reward for our collective commitment – members, partners and staff – and a pride to share all together in Paris, Lyon, Marseille and beyond!
If you are a France-IX member in Paris and/or Marseille (members in Lyon having already participated in a recent survey from Rezopole), we invite you to complete a satisfaction survey on your services and experience at France-IX. This will take only a few minutes and may allow you to win one of the two prizes brought into play.
France-IX relies on IELO for the partial renewal of its fibre optic network
France-IX selected IELO, a wholesale operator in fibre optic infrastructure for corporates, to connect the majority of its points of presence (PoPs) thanks to its fibre optic network.
Following the restructuring of our suppliers, the relocation of our GRE1 bay within the Cogent Chanrion PoP is scheduled to move to a new rack in the same PoP. This move will take place at the end of March 2021. In full coordination with France-IX Lyon's customers, the technical team is currently in the phase of staging operations in order to meet the constraints of each customer concerned and to maintain a maximum continuity of service.
The new 100Gbps link between LyonIX 3 & LyonIX 2 now operational
This new 100Gbps link, delivered on February 11th, extends the level of redundancy of the France-IX Lyon inter-PoP network. This operation is part of the power and quality upgrades conducted on the local infrastructure. The Lyon network now has a complete 100G loop between the 3 main sites: LyonIX1, 2 and 3.
Renewal of the Serial2IP
In order to ensure quality service, the Serial2IP equipment is being renewed: former Raritan equipment is being replaced by OpenGear. As a reminder, this service allows you to take control via the console port of your equipment hosted in LyonIX racks via the France-IX Lyon IP network, thus offering maintenance redundancy which can be crucial in the speed of recovery on incidents. In January and February, the LyonIX 1 (all), LyonIX 2D et LyonIX 3A racks were upgraded. Other racks will be equipped in the coming months.
The 2021 edition of RezoLink available soon
The RezoLink is the directory of interconnected members on the IXP/NAPs of LyonIX, GrenoblIX and AnnecIX. Now operating as France-IX Lyon, Rezopole publishes the 9th edition of this directory which will include the network & Telecom experts of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes - operators, ESNs, hosting providers, companies, public actors and the usual partners - as well as associations and local & regional authorities. Published in 2000 copies, RezoLink will be sent to the members and partners involved and will also be available at future trade events. Stay tuned in early April!
