President's Message

Last month I wrote about being thankful for being part of our Chapter. This month, I must in turn say "thank you" to a member of our chapter who serves as the leader of our most recognized and respected strategic pillars: Education. Last week, I made a mistake. My mom and Kindergarten teacher were right: "When you make a mistake, it's important to say you're sorry."

For many years, Dr. Ann Dietrich has served as the Chapter's Education Director and oversees our board review courses, Carol Rivers’ products, EM Ultrasound, and LLSA Review courses. I took what Ann does for us for granted, and unfortunately it was only after the fact that I realized my error. [Read more]

Nominations Sought for ACEP Board of Director, Council Officer Candidates
Interested in being part of ACEP's leadership? The ACEP Nominating Committee is accepting individual, chapter, and section recommendations for ACEP's Board of Directors, Council Speaker, and Council Vice Speaker candidates. Nominations must be submitted by March 1.

EMRA is accepting applications for Spring Awards. Awards this cycle include Chief Resident of the Year, Jean Hollister EMS Award, travel scholarships, and many more. For more information and to apply, check out the EMRA Awards webpage. Applications are due January 15!

EMF Grant Deadlines Near
The Emergency Medicine Foundation is now accepting grant applications in a variety of categories. Grant opportunities ranging from Research Fellowships to Resident Research are available. Deadline for applications is January 16, 2017. Apply today!

ACEP’s 2017 Leadership & Advocacy Conference (LAC) is being held in March instead of its usual May timeframe. LAC is taking place Sunday, March 12-Wednesday, March 15. This is the perfect advocacy conference for both political novices and veterans alike! Registration is now open!
