Finals are an important time at school.  Please do not schedule vacations to start until after the conclusion of finals.

Thanks,

Power Up and Prepare to Learn

Students, please charge your Chromebooks at night so you are ready for the school day. We do not have extra Chromebook chargers to lend out so please bring your Chromebook to school with a full battery. And remember to bring your own charger just in case you run out of power.
HELP!

The Lost & Found is threatening to take over the first floor! Any items not reclaimed by the winter break will be donated to charity. Countless water bottles, jackets, pants, backpacks, shoes, hats, and more can be found in the stairway by 5th grade.

Student Government Sock Drive

The student government is partnering with local charities to donate new adult socks to those less fortunate in Eagle County. While this is a worthy cause in itself, we are turning it into a competition!

Each grade will have a donation box. The grade that donates the most socks per number of students in the grade will receive a prize before winter break!!

Please bring new, adult socks now until December 19th and give them to Mr. Steninger or put them in your grade's box. Winners and prizes will be announced later that week.

Lindsey 'Linda' LaBaugh, Class of 2023
Lindsey LaBaugh was born in Greenwich, CT and spent her early years growing up in Rye, NY.  She was on skis before she was 2 years old and skied many years on packed, icy powder in Killington, Vermont.  Her family moved her to the Vail area in 2017 and she started VSSA full time as a 7th grader.  She is a great all-round skier as she has trained over the years in alpine, moguls, freeski, and freeride, but her favorite sport is ski-cross.  She was the USASA National Champion for Ski Cross in 2019, 2018 and 2017 and was able to train and travel in Austria, Germany and Italy with U.S. Ski and Snowboard athletes in Spring of 2021.  When she is not skiing, she enjoys camping, art, cooking and surfing.  She will likely take a PG year after graduation.
Gavin Jobson, Class of 2023
Gavin Jobson was born in Crested Butte, CO and came to VSSA as a freshman. Growing up in the high mountains of the Crested Butte Valley, he soon became quite the avid outdoorsman with the greatest enjoyment in hunting, flyfishing, skiing and hiking peaks. Gavin followed in his father's footsteps with the art of archery hunting and flyfishing from high mountains and rivers to the deep blue salt water. He can navigate the mountain woods for elk and deer with the best of hunters in the Fall and come Springtime, bend the fly rod on a flats boat in the Florida Keys for tarpon and permit. Gavin is most interested in attending either MSU in Montana or CSU in Fort Collins to study business and film.
Hunter Roach, Class of 2023
Hunter Roach was born in Boston, MA and moved to Vail, CO when he was 2.5 yrs old to ensure he didn't acquire a "wicked" Boston accent.  He strapped on his first pair of alpine skis the year he moved, started racing at 6, and never looked back. He's a fierce competitor on and off the slopes. If he's not skiing or playing lacrosse, then you can find him hunting, analyzing football or baseball stats, running his landscaping and e-bike rental businesses, or hanging with his buddies.  Hunter plans to continue ski racing in college, however the exact location is TBD.
