Thank you to all who joined us for the 10th Annual Green Business Partnership Awards! If you missed this fun celebration, you can watch it any time on YouTube. Meet the winners here, in this article from the White Plains Patch.
Did you know that there are two types of GBP membership? Most companies join to pursue certification as a green business using our proprietary GBP Greenhouse Gas Emissions Tool and comprehensive online dashboard.
If you offer green products or services but are not pursuing certification, your business can be listed in the Green Services Directory and on our members page for just $250/year. This membership also entitles you to participate in our lively Google Group and online Team-Ups, where we take a proactive role in showcasing members’ knowledge and facilitating beneficial collaborations. For an additional fee, Green Service Members may host an educational Zoom webinar that will be promoted to our full list of 2,000 contacts and on social media.
“As a trade association representing all aspects of the real estate industry, we always try to educate our members about options that can help make them more energy efficient, save money, and adopt practices that increase the sustainability of our communities. Customers, decision makers, and potential business partners often want to support business owners who take the lead, situate themselves on the cutting edge, and demonstrate they are good stewards and responsible citizens. We joined the Green Business Partnership to show that BRI is not only talking the talk but walking the walk and demonstrating our own commitment to sustainability." -Timothy Foley, Executive Director, BRI
“By learning to operate more sustainably, businesses can not only reduce any negative impact on the environment, but also save money by using fewer resources. And, working toward green certification is an incredible team-building process. The Green Business Partnership will be a great resource for our members.” -Deb Milone, President, Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce
ICYMI: Pointers from Pell Wealth Partners
Geri Pell, CEO and Private Wealth Advisor of GBP-certified Pell Wealth Partners shared a lot of great insight during a recent webinar about responsible investing, including what has changed in the last 30 years that she’s been in the industry. The focus has shifted from avoiding certain investments (e.g., tobacco or alcohol) to actively seeking investments that match your values.
Do you believe that all people and communities should have equitable access to a safe, clean, healthy, and nourishing environment? That it is unfair for pollution, contaminants and climate change to disproportionately affect certain communities? That the tools of sustainability, from energy-saving appliances to fresh fruit and vegetables should be accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few? We do.
Sustainable business is a critical stepping stone to environmental justice and resource preservation. That’s why it’s our mission to engage, educate and empower organizational leaders and staff to accelerate sustainable business.
If you believe as we do, please consider a donation or sponsorship. We are a 501c not-for-profit funded only by membership, sponsorship, grants and donations, and your support is critical.
The Green Business Partnership is a nonprofit membership organization that awards official green business certification. Businesses and nonprofits join to gain access to our proprietary GBP Greenhouse Gas Emissions Tool and comprehensive online toolkit, which are used to calculate the economic and environmental impacts of daily operations and complete specific action items to increase efficiency and save money. Organizations certified by the GBP receive an official seal to validate and promote their commitment to sustainability. Learn more at greenbusinesspartnership.org.
