2016 in Review:  A Letter From Board Member Mark Estee

"Hello members and soon to be members!  Well my number came up in the board meeting and it is my turn to have the honor of writing a short update on a few of the many facets that go on here at your COOP.  The team has been hard at work on a daily basis to best serve the community and the membership in every possible way while keeping a firm grasp on the Ends Statement.  I am not going to get into politics, so the end, but the Ends, as in what guides this amazing COOP we have here in Reno."  READ FULL LETTER HERE.

Gluten-Free Organic Muenster, Sharp Cheddar & Avocado with Local Raspberry Jam

2 slices Bread SRSLY (naturally yeasted gluten-free sourdough sold in fridge dept.)
Fry each side in 1 tbsp organic valley butter and then reduce heat so that the cheese melts but the bread does not burn (a lid helps too)
Side A - Organic Valley Muenster Cheese
Side B - Kingdom's Organic Sharp Cheddar
Once each side is oozing with melted cheese remove from the pan and assemble other toppings of your choice inside: chipotle mayo, New Harvest pea shoots, organic avocado, thin slices of red onion, OG tomato, etc.
Top with a fruit preserve of your choice, pictured here is the last jar of Holley Family Farms Christmas jam, a very special treasure. We still have Lattin Farms organic cantaloupe, raspberry and jalapeno jams in stock!

"I've never been really big on sweets, not even chocolate. But with my first taste of Honey Mamas chocolate I was hooked. Based in Portland Oregon, Honey Mamas chocolate is handmade in small batches using only direct-trade, non-GMO, and organic ingredients. My favorite part, besides the way it just melts in your mouth, is how smooth it is. The only sweetener used in this chocolate is Oregon honey, so you don't get the bitterness you get from most chocolates that use sugar. Give it a try and I bet it'll become your favorite indulgence." - Megan Eisemann, Grocery Department Coordinator
