June is Bike Month!

We know, we know, this is the second "monthly" newsletter sent this month. But we can't help the fact that Peterborough is just bursting with bicycle related happenings! We promise no more news till July (unless you follow our twitter and facebook feeds of course).

Did you know we offer unsupervised DIY shop time for members? The store is open Monday to Friday 12-5 and if you know what you are doing, you are welcome to come and use the shop. Instructors are only present during Open Shop: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 1-7 and Saturday 10-4. (Yes, there is overlap there, but we haven't thought of a better way to communicate this...)

Trent Shop is Open!

Wednesdays 11-4

Live in the North End? Want to do your DIY on campus? Our sweet little shop is your solution. Drop in to check it out.

The tiny Trent Shop boasts two work benches with stands, a master tool board, and a selection of new and used parts. Find it in the Alumni house garage at the North end of Champlain College.

NotBad & Not2Bad

MTB film double feature!

Tuesday June 21st Wild Rock presents a double feature of mountain bike films: NotBad and the Brand New Not2Bad. These films feature great mountain biking, amazing scenery, and the very best cinematography. This is a not for profit event with all funds going to support our local cycling community.

Screenings start at 7 p.m. Grab dinner and pint from our hosts the Ashburnham Alehouse.
Tickets only $15 from Wild Rock!

New Stickers!

B!KE's got a sweet new sticker and its hot off the press! Stickers are by donation. Drop in for an ABC quick check and put one of these babies on your ride.

One Meter Ride

Raise awareness about what sharing the road really looks like

It's Bike Month and time to remind motorists of Ontario's one metre law  for passing people on bikes. Come out for a short ride with colourful one metre flags, join P-BAC Thursday, June 16th at 5:15 in the park across from City Hall to assemble the metre flags and go for a casual ride. No ride in the rain.

GreenUP is Hiring

We need a Transportation and Urban Design Coordinator!

A great opportunity to work with a leading environmental charity here in Peterborough. Details here.

Participatory Budgeting

Be sure to vote.

B!KE is a big fan of democracy and now is a chance to practice it. Before June 15th vote for a project in your ward. Projects for Town Ward include a demo protected bike lane, skatepark lighting, bike parking, and more!

Until next time...
