This Week @ The SGA

Hello Panthers!

Here are some friendly reminders! The Halloween spectacular is on October 26 from 5-9pm at the Pi Kapp House! Come out and support FIU and have a fun time.

Also, the last Cafecito con SGA is on November 16 in the Housing Quad from 11-2pm! This event is hosted by the legislative branch of SGA- the Senate. So come out and have a cup of coffee with me! I’d love to see lots of CARTA students there and be able to meet you personally.

See you there!

Miranda Mulligan Appointed as 2106-17 Knight Innovator-In-Residence

Dear Colleagues,

It’s my pleasure to announce the appointment of Miranda Mulligan as the 2016-17 Knight Innovator-In-Residence for the School of Communication + Journalism.

Professor Mulligan is a leader in media, design, user-experience, and digital strategy. Her professional experience includes serving as an executive board member for the Society for News Design as well as program director for its rapid-prototyping event series, SNDMakes. Formerly, she was a creative director at National Geographic Society, executive director of award-winning Northwestern University Knight Lab, and digital design director at The Boston Globe. In 2011, she led the responsive design approach to BostonGlobe.com, the first major site to use the technique and the recipient of numerous awards and accolades.

As this year’s Knight Innovator-In-Residence, Professor Mulligan will work collaboratively with our faculty developing programming to enable cross-disciplinary collaborations through human-centered, prototype-driven design.

Please join me in welcoming Professor Mulligan to FIU, the SCJ, and CARTA.

Warmest regards,
