Recently, I've had the chance to teach on 2 DTS classes that are running in Northern California. Spending time encouraging and teaching these young people who have set time aside to learn more about God and His ways was so life-giving for me. I've never really consider myself (Luke) much of a teacher but being able to be a part of the journey for these students has stoked a real fire within me. As we look forward to hosting YWAM Ember Ink's 2nd DTS this fall I am excited and expectant for the young lives God is going to bring in our midst to be transformed and encouraged to living a life of mission, full of Love for Him.
As we continue to see our team build we have been busy bees in the background fundraising, writing grants and all the good stuff that makes a ministry tick! It is a full-time job for both of us, but we have been really intentional to find a good, healthy rhythm with family and ministry. I guess you could say we are learning our lessons!!
We whipped together a quick video for a recent grant we have submitted for our Youth Street program. Take a look! I think it gives a fun look at what and why we do Youth Street. It gives a picture of what we've been spending some of our time and energy on with our fantastic team over the past few years. We are full of gratefulness for those who have served with us over the past few years and even in the midst of a lot of staff transition we are grateful for the rich relationships and bright future of what we are looking forward to in this upcoming season.
We are hoping to relaunch Youth Street soon with some music lessons offered, followed by the regular Saturday Program once we have a few more team members come onboard!
Discipleship Training School
While we are still 9 months out, preparations are in full swing. We are trusting God to bring to our growing little team some extra hands and hearts to pull it all off with a bit more ease.
We are also needing courage as we take on more as this year demands. New property, staff, ministry and all the faith and determination needed to execute all of it. We are learning to rest in His peace and trust in the midst of it all. These have been key lessons for us. Not to lose ourself in the details and the work, but to trust in His goodness no matter how things work out or whether or not things turn out how we expect.
Please be praying for us in the midst of this season. We appreciate all the love and support we have felt from you in our journey.
