|Program Extension Announcement
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Based on feedback from volunteers and the record-breaking snowfall and polar temps across the state, we will be extending the 2019 Cookie Program by one week, making the last day for selling cookies March 24!
What does this mean for cookie cupboards?
Cookie Cupboards will be open the week of March 18; specific hours will be posted once we’ve confirmed availability for each cupboard. The last date to place a Planned Order in Smart Cookies is now Sunday, March 17. Cupboards will NOT be open for returns on Monday, March 18, as previously listed. Instead, cupboard returns will be available on Monday, March 25, as well as during open cupboard hours the week of March 18 – specific hours and locations to be posted.
How will this impact ordering cookies?
Risk Free Ordering – the last two weeks of Cookie Cupboards will be risk-free. This means that planned orders that are picked up the week of March 11 and the week of March 18 are considered “Cookie Checkout,” and you will be able to return up to what you picked up the last two weeks, by March 25. Note: The cookie checkout period may have limited varieties available – once a variety is out, we will not be able to order more, but you can connect with other troops to trade, or direct customers to order online.
Are booth sales extended as well?
Yes! Also, if you had to cancel a council-secured booth due to snow on Sunday, February 17, we are looking at make-up booths at the same locations on Sunday, March 24. If available, you will have first dibs on these booths before they are released for other troops.
What about online sales?
Online sales are also extended, so customers can order online through Sunday, March 24.
What about reward orders and the final auto-withdrawal?
With the program extension, reward orders will be due in Smart Cookies on Sunday, March 31 (previously Monday, March 25). The final auto-withdrawal will be moved back to Tuesday, April 9 (previously Tuesday, April 2). We are working hard with our partner ABC Bakers to ensure that there is no delay in rewards due to the program extension!
But that’s Spring Break and we want to be done on the original dates!
No problem! As the Troop Product Manger you can decide the best end-date for your troop this year. For those who are interested, spring break is a great time for girls to get creative about all new places they can take their cookie program during the day! And, the extended online sale may also help girls make a final push to reach their goals! (Don’t forget that GSGI covers 70 counties, so it may not be Spring Break for all girls!)
