The Inaugural Holiday Make-It Takes Over Wunder Garten Dec. 3rd and 4th!

Mark your calendar! December 3rd and 4th, the NoMa BID in partnership with the Wunder Garten and the Lemon Bowl, will be launching the inaugural Holiday Make-It: The not so average holiday market, where you don’t just buy-it, you make-it!

Get a head start on the holiday gifting this year by putting together some very special, one of a kind,  presents at our Holiday Make-It at the Wunder Garten!

Artisans curated by The Lemon Bowl and NoMA BID will host several DIY classes in creating unique, totally personalized gifts including terrariums, custom notebooks, pom poms, hand dyed accessories and more! Join friends and like-minded strangers as you learn new skills, make some fun and creative holiday gifts, indulge in some mulled gluvine, sip a cold refreshing beer and savor treats and snacks.

Prefer some retail therapy?

Stock up on handcrafted goods made right here in DC, and breathe in the pine-y air produced by all the freshly cut trees around the bier garten. Not only can you get your gifting done, you'll be able to "spruce" up your home with a tree from the Wunder Garten "tree farm"!

The inaugural Holiday Make-It will take place December 3rd and 4th from noon-6 p.m. at 1101 First Street NE. Stay tuned for more information about the featured vendors and how to sign up for the DIY classes.

Share Your "NoMa Green" Feedback!

The NoMa Parks Foundation introduced the landscape architecture firm Nelson Byrd Woltz at the Oct. 25th Community Conversation. Nelson Byrd Woltz presented a competition design in order to seek feedback from park enthusiasts about key programs and features of the park. The Parks Foundation is collecting information at ImagineNoMaParks.org. If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can still join the conversation there! Nelson Byrd Woltz will develop a concept design over the next couple of months and perform more studies of the site in order to present a concept design to the community in early 2017.

How Are You Handling SafeTrack Surge 10?

The latest round of SafeTrack repairs began Saturday, 10/29, halting train service along the Red Line between the NoMa - Gallaudet U and Fort Totten stations until the week of Thanksgiving. Shuttle buses have been assigned to bridge the gap during the work period but Metro is advising commuters to “plan ahead and find alternate routes.”
