Sweet Science Coffee — Now Open!

You've sampled Sweet Science Coffee at several NoMa BID's events over the past year — now you can enjoy the complete caffeine and pastry experience from dawn until dusk, all week long. That's right: the neighborhood's newest coffee shop is open at 35 N St. NE! Learn more about Sweet Science and its founder, Sandra Wolter, in this great Eater DC article.

Mmmmm … Empanadas

Do you enjoy Argentinian empanadas? If so, then Wunder Garten is the place to be this Friday, 5:00–10:00 pm, and Saturday, 1:00–10:00 pm. Dine on handmade, freshly baked beef, spinach, and jam and cheese pastries in the beautifully decorated marquee tent, which hosted the Stable popup during Winterfest. And if you're still hungry, top off your meal with a classic Argentinean dessert: Alfajores de Dulce de Leche (a type of cookie) or Pasta-Flora (quince pie) !Buen provecho!

Savor Lao Food at Winter Restaurant Week Prices

Washington Restaurant Week Winter 2020 kicked off this past Monday, and Laos in Town is participating. It's the first NoMa dining spot to be part of this beloved biannual event, when restaurants in the D.C. area offer special prix-fixe menus ($22 lunch; $35 dinner). Restaurant Week ends on Sunday, January 19, but Laos in Town is extending the special menu and prices through January 23! If you haven't dined at this Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand Award–winner yet, perhaps a meal for a deal can entice you to head over to 250 K St. NE?

WAMU — Live in NoMa on January 28

If you listen to WAMU on a regular basis, then you're familiar with the radio station's What's With Washington podcast, which answers interesting questions about the D.C. region and the people who live here. On January 28, host Mikaela Lefrak and special guests — including District artist Miss Chelove, who participated in our 2017 POW! WOW! DC mural festival and also contributed a large artwork at the heart of the Words Beats & Life mural quilt at Storey Park in 2015 — will record an episode live at the NPR HQ building. Tickets are still available!
