Enjoy a Cocktail Pairing at CR NoMa

CR NoMa is participating in D.C. Cocktail Week 2019, in which restaurants around the city are offering a cocktail–small bite pairing for one price. CR NoMa's gin-based concoction has notes of spiced pear and elderflower and is infused with sage when shaken, and it's joined by the Grilled Eggplant Soup, with cumin & paprika spiced fried chickpeas. Available 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily; $15. Don't delay: Cocktail Week ends this Sunday!

We Need Your Opinion on Possible Changes to Summer Screen

In 2020, NoMa Summer Screen, our longest-running free public event, will move to its permanent home at Alethia Tanner Park. But all of the rain we've experienced over the past few summers has us wondering if we should make it a two-part series: April–May and August–September. And if we do that, we'd have to change the event name, of course. So we ask: What do you think? Take this brief survey today. Thanks for your time and participation! Survey closes on Friday, December 6.

King Street Oyster Bar: Opening Soon!

The folks behind King Street Oyster Bar NoMa are preparing to open their doors very soon — within days of this newsletter, in fact — as the neighborhood's first seafood-centric restaurant. Located at 22 M St. NE, #KSOBNoMa will offer a fresh assortment of seafood, daily oysters, two daily happy hours, craft cocktails, and more! For additional information, please visit the restaurant's website, call (202) 621-8513, or follow them on social media: @KingStreetOysterBar.

We're Planning Nerds in NoMa 2020 ...

And seeking possible participants. We've themed the upcoming season of our winter conversation series around the past, focusing on the greater NoMa neighborhood (January 14); the present, looking at how we manage the stresses of the modern world (February 11); and the future (March 10). We're looking for storytellers, thinkers, people with big ideas, historians, experts. Intrigued? Contact us!

Just Two Weeks to Winterfest!

Wunder Garten's annual holiday celebration, Winterfest, returns for a third year on Friday, December 6, for three weekends of cheer. The temperature-controlled Bier Garten will be transformed into a holiday wonderland, there will be trees for sale, a makers market, special events (yes, the ugly sweater dance party will happen!), and much more. Head to for all of the details.
