DC residents joined the Metropolitan Police Department and other local organizations for some family fun activities all over the city.We had an awesome evening celebrating community and promoting safety at Sursum Corda. National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships, police officers and other community leaders. A huge thanks goes out to Harris Teeter for their generous food donation. We can't wait to do it all again next year!

Safety Meeting Recap

The July Public Safety Meeting was a facilitated discussion with a focus on running more effective meetings. The questions at hand were around the frequency of the meeting, its subject matter, and new ideas. The results of the meeting were as follows: 1) to continue to have an open meeting, once per month, 2) to focus the meeting on crime but also make time for infrastructure, public space, and construction concerns, and 3) to enable live meetings online and make meeting minutes more accessible. The next NoMa Public Safety Meeting is Tuesday, September 13 at 2 P.M. and will be held monthly going forward.
