December 12: Help Us Celebrate the Holiday Season in Song

The NoMa BID invites you to join us at 5:30 pm next Tuesday, December 12, at the corner of Pierce and First streets NE for an hour of holiday wonder. There will be festive caroling by the award-winning Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, D.C. and seasonal treats provided by NoMa's newest coffee shop, Peet's Coffee.

You'll also be rewarded for doing good: Bring one pair of NEW pajamas to donate to the D.C. Holiday Pajama Drive for children in the city's foster care system and receive a ticket good for a complimentary holiday cocktail at Wunder Garten that night!* And please remember: PJs are needed for children of every age and size, from toddlers to teens.

Can't make it to one of our donation boxes? We've made it easy for you to contribute to the cause: purchase a PJ set from Amazon at amzn.to/HolidayJammies. Thanks for your generosity!

*Free-drink tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit: One per customer.

December 12: But Wait, There's More!

Be sure to stick around after caroling, because Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen will be joining us and the NoMa Parks Foundation at 6:30 pm to help announce the official name of the new park that's under construction at the corner of 3rd and L streets. After nearly 1,500 votes were tallied for the three options — 3rd and L Park, Old City Corner, Swampoodle Park — the people's choice for the park name is clear. And it is ...

Red Bear Brewing Coming to NoMa in 2018

Exciting news: NoMa will be getting a brewery in 2018! Red Bear Brewing will establish its first location, a 100-150–seat taproom, in the ground-floor retail space at Uline Arena next to the REI flagship store. The brewery, which expects to open its doors late next summer, was founded by three fellows from Washington State who now call the Washington, D.C., area home (one of them even lives in NoMa). Learn a little more about this new addition to the District craft beer scene in this Bisnow article
