Now Open: Stellina Pizzeria

You sampled their pizza and panini at our Nerds in NoMa events — now it's time for the full experience. As of April 2, Stellina Pizzeria is open! Check out the menu of southern Italian–inspired street food, then head over to 399 Morse St. NE (behind the Trader Joe's on Florida Avenue) and satisfy your hunger. Buon appetito!

NoMa Parks Update

It's been a busy few months for the NoMa Parks Foundation as multiple projects have been coming to fruition. Rain in the L Street NE underpass and Swampoodle Park opened last autumn, and now there's more to be excited about.

Lightweave: The NPF's second "art park," located in the L Street NE underpass, is complete! Join us on April 9 at 7:30 p.m. as we illuminate this beautiful and compelling light-art installation.

"Alethia Tanner Park": The NPF's largest park project — 2.5 acres of green space, children's playground, dog park, and more — is under construction! Watch for midsummer news about a temporary detour for part of the Metropolitan Branch Trail as the trail below R Street NE is reworked into a safer configuration. "Tanner Park" is expected to open in early 2020.

Chat With Your Councilmember

Join Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen for an evening edition of his regular community meetings. This is time set aside for CM Allen to talk with constituents about any issues happening on their block, in their neighborhood, or across the city. He'll be at Wunder Garten on Monday, April 8, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There's no agenda — just an opportunity for CM Allen to connect with neighbors.

Reminder: Our Community Events Calendar Is Live!

In the previous NoMa Notes we told you about our new NoMa Community Events Calendar, the best way to keep up with all that's going on around the neighborhood, and a great opportunity for local groups and businesses to inform the community about public events, food and drink specials, and more (just use the "submit your event" button at the top of the page). If you haven't perused the calendar yet, you should! To sweeten the suggestion, we've hidden a couple of giveaways among the events listed for April and May. Find and claim them today. Happy hunting!

An Evening of Art & Conversation

On April 25, Spire Events — a gorgeous conference space at the top of 750 First St. NE (the views of D.C. are pretty incredible) — is hosting an evening of creativity with art, drinks, hors d'ouevres, and more. Spire's Art Night will give D.C.-area artists an opportunity to showcase their work. As an added bonus, there will also be a Sip & Paint event, the tickets for which are available until April 19. Limited seats are available, so be sure to RSVP!

Are you a local artist looking to raise your profile? Spire is still accepting applications for the event. Contact Joy McIntyre:
