A Summer Full of Wonder Women Arrives in NoMa on June 6

The 11th season of NoMa Summer Screen kicks off next Wednesday. Here's a snapshot of what the weeks ahead will offer:

  • 12 great movies with strong female leads: 10 Things I Hate About You (6/6) – Mulan (6/13) – Chicago (6/20) – Mad Max: Fury Road (6/27) – Matilda (7/11) – A League of Their Own (7/18) – Rogue One (7/25) – Pitch Perfect (8/1) – Moana (8/8) – Thelma & Louise (8/15) – Ghostbusters (8/22) – Wonder Woman (8/29)
  • Also: two food trucks, a different pairing each week – free treats on select nights (while supplies last) – complimentary bike parking (thanks, Two Wheel Valet!) – a weekly raffle for 9:30 Club tickets – and more!

Check the Summer Screen page on our website for more details, and follow the BID on social media (TW / IG / FB) for updates and announcements about all the great things happening on The Lot at First & Pierce (1150 First St. NE).

A big thank you to our sponsors, Advantage Financial Federal Credit Union and The Belgard, for helping make Summer Screen possible, and to Tishman Speyer for use of their space in the heart of NoMa.

And Speaking of the Lot …

Our new home for outdoor BID events, the FRESHFARM NoMa Market, the D.C. Public Library Fab Lab Pop-Up, and other great activities now has a large swath of turf on the Pierce Street side, next to the awesome WASHINGTON mural by No Kings Collective.

This is where Summer Screen viewers will sit, and we hope to see people enjoying this space in a variety of ways throughout the summer. We know that many of you like to walk dogs on this lot as well, and we ask that you do your part to help keep the space clean by observing a simple rule:

ImagePlease keep dog-walking to the south side of the gravel path.

Thanks for your cooperation!
