It's the Last Weekend of Winterfest!

The biggest and best Winterfest at Wunder Garten has its final days this Friday through Sunday! Stop by to purchase a Christmas tree, shop the makers market, dine at the Little Stable popup, attend one of the special events — including the ho-ho-hopping Night of 1,000 Santas Dance Party — or simply join friends and family for some shared holiday cheer. Check the Winterfest website for full details. And in case you missed it, here's a great WAMU story about the business of Christmas trees in D.C. that includes Ben Sherman and his Giving Tree project, which this year is donating a portion of Winterfest tree-sale proceeds to Pathways to Housing DC.

Hello, King Street Oyster Bar Brunch

NoMa's first seafood-focused restaurant has quickly established itself as a neighborhood favorite for lunch, happy hour, and dinner — and starting this weekend, there's yet another reason to visit: brunchMenu highlights feature a lineup of craft cocktails including the King Street Bloody and the NoMa Paloma; sweet and savory items like the Cluster of Sticky Buns, Blueberry Cobbler Pancakes, Chicken & Waffles, and King Street Benedict (with either crab, fried oysters, or salmon); and much more. Satisfy your weekend hunger every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

WAMU — Live in NoMa!

If you listen to WAMU on a regular basis, then you're familiar with the station's What's With Washington podcast, which seeks to answer burning questions about the D.C. region and the people who live here. On January 28, host Mikaela Lefrak and special guests — including District artist Miss Chelove, who participated in our 2017 POW! WOW! DC mural festival — will record an episode live at the NPR HQ building. But don't take too long deciding whether you want to attend, because tickets are sure to sell out quickly.
