IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CONSTRUCTION WORK AT
150 M ST. NE AND TRAFFIC CONTROL


JUNE 10: SETTING THE TOWER CRANE BASE
Workers will be setting the tower crane base between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 10. In accordance with the District Department of Transportation–approved traffic control plan, through traffic will be closed on M Street between First Street NE and Delaware Avenue NE. All DDOT-required traffic and pedestrian control measures will be installed. During this time, a mobile crane will be set up in the roadway and require two lanes due to the length of its outriggers. The tower crane base will be delivered by a flatbed tractor trailer and lifted into place on the 150 M site.
 
JUNE 12: NEW TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN IN EFFECT
Beginning June 12, the westbound lane of M Street from the underpass to First Street NE will be closed from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. (Currently, the lane is closed 9:30 am – 3:30 pm.) Access to the businesses on the north side of M Street between First and 2nd streets NE will be available to by detour: Vehicles will turn left on 2nd Street, right on L Street, right on First Street, and then right on M Street. These lane closure hours will be in effect until August 2018.
 
JUNE 24 & 25: ERECTING THE TOWER CRANE
The tower crane will be put in place beginning Saturday, June 24, at 7:00 am through Sunday June 25, at 7:00 pm. In accordance with the District Department of Transportation–approved traffic control plan, through traffic will be closed on M Street between First Street NE and Delaware Avenue NE. All DDOT-required traffic and pedestrian control measures will be installed. During this time, a mobile crane will be set up in the roadway and require two lanes due to the length of its outriggers. The tower crane sections will be delivered by flatbed tractor trailers and assembled on the 150 M site over the course of the day on Saturday and Sunday.
