NoMa's beloved beer garden, Wunder Garten, is excited to announce its 5th Annual Oktoberfest, which will take place Friday, September 27, through Sunday, October 6. The celebration kicks off at 5:00 p.m. this Friday with the "tapping of the keg," a time-honored Oktoberfest tradition that will be led by NoMa BID President Robin-Eve Jasper this year. (Pro tip: The German phrase to shout when the tapping is complete is "Ozapft is!")
Over 10 days and two weekends at Wunder Garten, enjoy music, events, and entertainment that will bring the real Munich Oktoberfest atmosphere to D.C. Draft beers in Märzen style hail from Bavaria's oldest breweries, like Spaten, Franziskaner, and Hofbräuhaus, and there will also be a select lineup of seasonal, locally brewed beers. Cafe Berlin and other vendors will serve authentic German fare, including grilled bratwurst, Bauernwurst, Bretzels and Obatzter, original potato salad, Gurkensalat, and sauerkraut. And there will be multiple events as well, including DJ nights, the Bavarian Olympics, and Pridetoberfest. Check the full calendar of events here.
