Developing Finnish Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation between Europe, Africa and the LAC region 

FinCEAL Plus 2015 - 2016

We are pleased to announce that FinCEAL has been granted a funding extension by the Ministry of Education and Culture until the end of 2016. During the new period, FinCEAL will expand to also include Asia. We look forward to continuing our support of the Finnish science community!

Preparatory Seminar for the 2nd EU-LAC Academic Summit, Guadalajara, Mexico, November 25-26th
The Preparatory Seminar for the 2nd EU-LAC Academic Summit, organized by the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, will be held between 25 and 26 November 2014 in Mexico. The Seminar will gather important actors from both regions in order to strengthen the integration of higher education, scientific research and innovation systems and to promote the collaboration between the higher education institutions and their relations with the society and the production sector. ALCUE NET meeting on Biodiversity and Climate Change in Marseille, November 26-28th, 2014.
The ALCUE NET meeting on biodiversity and climate change - Towards bi-regional activities on observatories, network and joint programming - will be held on 26-28 November in Marseille, France. The event is organized by the Research Institute for Development (IRD, France), Foundation for Biodiversity Research (FRB, France), Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, Portugal) and the Administrative Department for Science and Technology (COLCIENCIAS, Colombia). The EU-LAC Foundation launches Online Forum: The Future of the EU - LAC Relations
This on-line consultation is part of a wider process in which different key actors in the bi-regional process have participated. The EU-LAC Foundation will compile the results gathered through this on-line consultation together with those obtained from past reflection processes and prepare a report outlining the results. Climate Change and Vector Borne Diseases: Past, Present and Futures, November 18th- 20th, 2014, Rwanda
The conference is organised by the University of Rwanda with the support of the EUFP7 HEALTHY FUTURES project. The organizers welcome contributions relating to both observational and modelling studies of vector borne disease (VBD), in particular with regard to past, present or potential future changes that have or may occur in response to changes environmental, socioeconomic and climate conditions. The Roadmap 2014-2017 was adopted by African and European Heads of State and Government at the 4th EU-Africa Summit in Brussels. European Commission info day on public-private partnerships 21 October in Brussels
An Information Day on the Research PPPs will take place on 21 October 2014 in Brussels. The aim of the event is to give the research community an overview of ongoing activities, and to support the preparation of proposals for the 2015 calls.
