Wrapping up 2020 at Q Theatre!

Tēnā koutou katoa,
As we end another strange year for the arts, it’s been rewarding to look back and see how much we’ve still managed to achieve despite the obstacles thrown at us all.

We end the year on a far more stable footing than we have many others, thanks largely to the support of Auckland Council, our generous donors, and every one of our audience members who, despite other uncertainties, came in large numbers to see live performances in our spaces.
It was particularly gratifying to see such enthusiasm for local artists and be reminded of the wealth of talent in Aotearoa. The closed borders did not stop audiences from seeing gold standard Theatre, Dance, Comedy and Music.

We're also excited to share our first public Annual Report that wraps up our Financial Year ending 30 June 2021, and we encourage you to take a read by following the link below.

So from everyone here at Q, ngā mihi o te wā me te kia pai ngā hararei - Season’s greetings and have a great holiday break.

Ngā mihi o te wā me te Tau Hou,
Greg Innes |

Mihi Whakatau from 2021. Clockwise from top left: NZ International Comedy Festival, Everything After - Brilliant Adventures, Double Bill - Gawky Productions, Paradise or the Impermenance of Ice Cream - Indian Ink, Inflated Rebel - Soft & Co, Auckland Pride Festival.
For the first time since opening, we’ve created an Annual Report to publicly share all the mahi done during the Financial Year ending 30 June 2021.

The full document is available following the link below and includes information on our achievements, our programme and our audited accounts. We are committed to being open and transparent about what we do at Q and we're sure that the report will get more exciting every year!
* Massive thanks to the University of Auckland for their support of Everything After and Summer at Q. These initiatives would not be possible without them.
Thanks partly to the multiple postponements caused by the most recent lockdown, our 2022 programme is already bursting at the seams with a spectacular line-up of all kinds of shows. Hurō!

We launch into the programme with a January appearance from award-winning musician, Lou'ana and get straight into Summer at Q. The Summer at Q line-up continues to grow with the most recent addition of Paul Bosauder's flamenco music and dance show, Tierra y Mar.

Following Summer at Q, we welcome Auckland Arts Festival back to the whare with the most arts fest shows hosted at Q in ages, maybe even ever! We're especially excited for Truth Machine, a multi-award-winning social experiment from Australia that takes advantage of the intimacy in Vault for something very special.

Following the Auckland Arts Festival, there are many returning shows for everyone who missed them due to the lockdown. Plenty to uncover and rediscover; take a look...
Treat a theatre lover in your life (or yourself!) to a Q Theatre Gift Package this summer. For $100, you'll get two seats and two drinks to any show in Q Theatre's 2022 season.

This gift package isn't exclusive to the Holiday Season and will be available throughout 2022. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries and all days ending in a 'Y'!
