Services for Older Adults
Individual, couple and family counselling is available to people aged 55 and older on an ongoing basis or for a single session at the Walk In Counselling Clinic. Our staff have received training to work with people aged 55 and older and their loved ones to help them cope with topics that include:
- Transition and change in work, residence and lifestyle
- Negotiating family relations
- Loss and grief
- Social isolation
- Health changes including memory concerns
- Trauma and abuse, both past and present
- Anxiety and depression
Older adults can also receive information about community resources available to support them and assistance to plan for meeting their future care needs.
Family counselling and mediation is available to assist families to plan for future care, help seniors express their wishes to their family members, and to resolve family disagreements.
