Notice to all Environment Centre members
Circumstances mean we need to reconsider for operational reasons our choice of auditor for the 2015-2016 financial year. We need to convene a Special General meeting on Wednesday 22 June at 6pm in the Environment Centre office to seek approval for the following recommendation.
“that we approve the appointment of BDH Consulting the be the auditor of the Environment Centre accounts for the 2015-2016 financial year”.
We are seeking this change because it will be an operational advantage to ECNT. We invite attendees to stay for a chat and snacks following the meeting.
Environment Centre Raffle
To help keep the Environment Centre NT going, we are running a large raffle. The first prize is a Davey energy-efficient pool pump installed by the good people at Friendly Pools and Spa.
The second prize is camping gear from the NT General Store valued at $160 and the third prize is a Sea Darwin voucher valued at $100.
Tickets are $10 each and the prizes will be drawn on June 29 at the Tranistions Fil Festival.
If you would like to buy a ticket or, get a book of tickets to sell, contact Di on 0448 893 529.
ECNT management committee vacancy
We wish to inform our members that Sebastian Baust has resigned from the ECNT Management Committee because he has left Darwin to pursue his career in Melbourne.
Sebastian has been a great contributor to the Management Committee who, because of his job, has brought knowledge and experience of the renewable energy sector to ECNT as well as his wide general experience.
We sincerely thank Sebastian for his contribution to ECNT and wish him well in the next phase of his career.
Owing to Sebastian’s resignation there is now a casual vacancy on the ECNT Management Committee (ECNTMC). The process to fill a casual vacancy is that the ECNTMC considers any applicants and makes an interim appointment to the ECNTMC, effective from the time of the appointment to the next ECNT AGM (November of each year).
If any members wish to be considered for this casual vacancy can you please email the ECNT Convenor, Drew English, firstname.lastname@example.org call Drew on 0407 869 989.
We do already have a nomination for consideration from Dr Michael Fonda.
The ECNTMC regular monthly meeting is next Monday evening – where we wish to consider all applicants and make a decision at that meeting.
Some of you will have received emails letting you know that your membership has expired. Please rejoin the centre when you can.
