Oh My Gourd! Fall Has Arrived.

September was a busy month for ReGenerative Roots filled with lots of harvesting, cleanup, and fall planting. In addition to hard work in the gardens, we’ve also been busy organizing upcoming events and raising money for a new, much needed greenhouse. We look forward to the month ahead!

2021 Corn and Bean Harvest: How’d It Go?

Although weather conditions were tough this summer, the three families from Burundi who utilize space at the ReGen Roots Community Farm were able to yield thousands of pounds of beans and corn on the 1.5 acres they manage. Great job, ladies!

And, guess what else? A portion of this freshly harvested corn was donated to the Nashua Children’s Home (pictured below!). Local food resilience starts with local food production!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Thank you to everyone who participated in fall cleanup days last month! We had a successful turnout for the cleanup at the community farm where volunteers helped to clean up one of the young farmer incubator plots for the season - and another fantastic turnout at the Nashua High North Titan Garden to help cleanup the garden for the season. All of the fresh vegetables from the Titan Garden were grown by the students - and everything harvested during the cleanup was donated to Nashua Children’s Home.
